Terrarium Care

Autumn Rose Terrariums

Terrariums are low maintenance and perfect for people who forget to water regular plants.

Preferring a position where there is a good natural source of light, bright but not direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will overheat the terrarium causing too much condensation and as a result the plants will suffer.

Placing on a windowsill is not ideal, placing near a window that provides indirect bright light needs to be monitored for the first few weeks of a new season. As above, too much condensation causes problems.

Not only are the plants producing the oxygen they need they also create the condensation required for watering. This is added by the vessel being made from glass. When the room temperature drops the outside of the terrarium becomes cold the warm air in the terrarium will rise causing condensation. This is why you normally see increased condensation mornings and nights.

Terrariums in the right environments should need watering or airing, if you are experiencing too much or too little condensation consider moving the terrarium to a different location in your home.
